What Kind Of GamePad Is Best To Use With Resident Evil 4 (PC Version)?

I have the PC version for Resident Evil 4 and the keyboard controls are pretty difficult to use. I heard the mouse support patch doesn't work so well either, so I was wondering what kind of Gamepad I should purchase. Does anybody have any suggestions? What kind is a good one to use? The Ubisoft website says a "4-axis dual analog stick with 12 or more buttons is required".
