How do i set the controls for my steering wheel in nfs undercover?

-i bought a steering wheel (Genius trio racer f1) and when i tried to play with it i couldn't because the controls are messed up .. the pedals are used to do different things not accelerating and braking ... i went to the controls in the options and i tried pressing the pedal in the accelerating instead of the up arrow but its not working .. please help
